calling all "stock G's, lowered with 18's (stock wheels)
Hello,
I wanted to know how much roughly it would cost to lower the G on the stock 18's. Has anyone done this? If so are there pics? What do you guys recommend? I live in Ontario, so we do have bad winters, I do plan to drive it in winter... I have a set of 17's for the winter... If i do plan on lowering the car, when i put my 17's on will the car be extra lower? After time does lowering damage the car? anyone's thoughts? thank you... please if you can post pics of G coupe with stock rims lowered... |
As long as you've got the right sized tires, your car shouldn't be lower when you switch to 17s. Basic springs are like ~$200, coilovers can be $1000+.

I also have tein s-techs on my 6mt and I love them. I did the install myself so it was only the cost of the springs which isn't bad. I am going to install a camber kit when i get my new wheels but it isn't really needed if you get your car properly aligned after the drop. I don't now about putting 17 on a G....the wheel wells are so damn big already the stock 18's look small...but thats just my opinion.

Sorry I missed the part about 17's for the winter...that makes sense then. just get a bigger sidewall.

I lowered my car with Tein 350z S-techs.
Including the camber kits, I spent $1200cdn. All my alignment settings are near stock (I changed them a bit for better performance). Your car wouldn't be extra low with stock 17s, because your 17" tire's profile will make up for the lower profile tires on stock 18s. I wouldn't say it would damage your shocks, should be fine if u get springs with spring rates close to to stock ones. Even if it does, it'll last for a long time (provided you don't try to offroad in your G35) |

Lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit. Everything else is stock. |
I drop mine with Tein S.Tech lowing springs (1.2 front,0.9 rear) on OEM 18's
