picked up my car but there's a paint defect
 

ok i just picked up my car yesterday and i noticed there's a paint defect on the rear quarter panel. there a L shaped blotch. if the service dept has to repaint to fix it, I don't want to. I don't my " new" car to get repainted because i know the color won't match completely, so what should i do? what can i do?

Interesting. I have a paint blemish too on the rear quarter panel, drivers side. I took it back a week ago to take care of it and it looked like it was taken care of. Its so hard to see, you need just the right light and angel. On top of not taking care of it I noticed 6 more miles on the odometer.

I backed into a minivan and busted my back bumper after having my G for 3 months. One of my coworkers used to own a body shop in his previous work life. He bought the bumper cover for me and painted it. It looks perfect. You can't tell the bumper was not the original. I guess if they just repaint the existing quater panel without stripping it first, it might not look the same.

Well I had the same problem, they ended up repainting the entire rear end of the car, and I can't tell the difference. Infiniti doesn't use cheap bodyshops.

i have the exact same L shaped paint blemish too on the rear quarter panel.. mine is on passenger side though. i must bring this up when i get my first oil change.

depending on the color u get..black and white will pretty much match..any other color would be iffy..

I'm assumig u drove it off the lot..if so, there is really little tat u can do..might as well suck it up and have them repaint it..

Mine was a little different, I had a small crack in my paint that looked like it got past the clearcoat into the paint. They touched it up and buffed it free of charge and it looks perfect. And if it comes back, I will always have the reciept for them to fix it again.

Well, the car is at the dealers. It looks more like bird droppings that got baked on sitting in the inventory lot. Don't have much experience with bird droppings other than cleaning it up before its had any chance of doing any damage.
Well, we shall see.

Dude today colors for cars are matched perfectly by computers. Any pro paint job with be unnoticeable to the average naked eye.

Black is one of the hardest colors to match. and the white coupes have a pearl in them its by far the hardest to match and get the paint pattern to match the reflection of the pearl. and silver is another mightmare! make sure to look carefully for color difference when you get the car back.

thank God... no painting require.. the clear coat was screwed up, so they had to wet sand it then buff it all out.. i still see 3 dot but i can take care of that..
