Confused on G35 Projector'd headlights, what do the fogs look like/ where are they?

I am replacing my 04 headlights with Projectored ones, and i replaced that strip next to the headlights with a more blue to match wedge bulb to go with the HIDs.

Could i reuse these with my 06-07 headlamps?

And i read the newer ones come with fogs, do any of you guys have pics of this? And are thre turn signals in them too like in my 04s?

Has anyone put real yellow fogs in there? Pics of any setups porfavor?

What do you mean the "newer ones" come with fogs? They always came with fogs...

On the 04', the highbeam was actually a dual-filament bulb. Except instead of a low/high setup, it was a fog/high setup...

On the 06-07 units, the light right below the projector is the fog. It's now only a single filament bulb.

The turn signal is a little different. On the 04', it was a dual-filament 7443 bulb. It was both a parking light and a turn signal. On the 06-07, it is a 7440 single filament turn signal only bulb.

Here is a pic of mine.. I have Nokya Hyper yellow fog bulbs in them.

hahahahaa so i guess i might have had my 'fogs' off the whole time ive had the car(just bought it 6months ago)? LOL Where is the switch for them?

And do you have any pics more farther away?

its on the light control stick on the left side of the steering column. you just rotate it forward I beleive....there should be like a little knotch sticking up..it rotates forward and backwards for the fogs. should be the same place you see Auto on the stick.

Also the 06-07 have a city light mounted inside the fog light. (This replaces the side strip that used to be on the 04 and 05 units) I put hyperwhite bulbs in mine... Here are two pics. Both pictures are of the city lights only.

so whats the big deal about these projectors vs. hids?

vhtran Jan 8, 2009 07:12 AM

LOL...HID is the bulb type like halogen but with gas. I guess you meant what's the big deal between the projectors and reflectors? They differences are, with reflector the beam out put may loose some due to it reflects else where. With projectors, the beam more concentrated to the projector and it evenlenly spread out depends on the projector designed. You'll get better lumination with projectors (not cheap kinds).

Wow. That looks real good.

So is it just a wedge bulb? Cause i have some wedge bulbs from my old 04 headlights that i used that were white like that.

And anyone know the exact size bulb of the fogs?

yuup there u go. see wut searching gets u?

BolivianFuego Jan 8, 2009 12:40 PM

So is it possible to run your fogs on without having to have your taillights on? To have them sorta like city lights?

If not anyone try to wire this up?

I used to run my Fogs in my old prelude like that all day. It looked so mean running these bright yellow bulbs on in the front during the day.

vhtran Jan 8, 2009 12:59 PM

^ LOL the car can't even turn on foglights w/o having headlights. More to that, the headlights right on top of the foglights, why bother just having the foglights (it's not like the foglights are under the bumper). If you wanna be mean like your old prelude, just change your headlight to 4300K bulbs and higher temp for the fog.

BolivianFuego Jan 8, 2009 01:17 PM

^^Damn!

Cause i could just imagine what it would look like with some really yellow lights in the headlight on while riding around, with nothing else lit, even the tails. It would be hot! Its too bad it isnt a button that starts the fogs, as i am sure if it was i would be able to rig it to work that way, seeing how its on the actual light switch its all probably intertwined.
