Yay!! It's time for Tint!

I am taking my G in tomorrow morning have it tinted 20% all the way around with Lumar film. Two questions: Is lumar the best I can buy? How are the windows going to dry properly if they move up and down everytime the door is opened. I remember when I had my civic done they told me not to touch or roll down the windows for 3 days. I'm sure someone as already had it done. Info please?

Red,

I got my windows tinted about a month ago. I guess the Lumar is the 2nd best tint you can buy, besides that german ceramic stuff, which is about 5 bills. I got the Lumar at 20% all the way around as well. My place blew dry the bottom inch so it was already dry so when the windows go up and down that quarter inch, it wouldn't be an issue. Since it wasn't sunny when I got my tint, I had to let it dry for almost 2.5 weeks. No joke, literally no Sun for weeks here in Houston. I was still having bubbles after 2 weeks, and when one sunny day came, about 3/4 of the bubbles disappeared, and the next sunny day, they were all gone. I didn't roll the window down until about yesterday, and I got the tint on February 27th. Also the dots on the top rear window wasn't a big deal either. They have them on Accords as well, so what they do is they file it down just a tad and the tint lays on top of it nicely. I was gonna take a chance and go with the bronze Lumar, but I chickened out and got the normal one. My car is Ivory Pearl with willow, so the bronze might have looked alright, but I didn't want to risk it. Good luck man.....

ps: Retail they were charging $179 plus tax, but I got a hook up price for $130 even..... my friend owns the shop.

Nice!! Thanks for the advice. I love those rims on your car, 19's? I sure it looks phat with your color. Well, I'm gonna head out now. One thing, asked if they had anything better than the Lumar and they said they had some "metalized" film that cost around $199. Any idea what type that might be? I think it was the same type they put on my civic which cost me about $230. Problem is it has a slight green "tinge" like you described. Hopefully they will have some example for me to check out. Thanks again man. Peace...

Talk to Corey at Ultimate Protection, tell him dude w/ white coupe sent you. I doubt he gives you my price, but I'm sure he'll do something for you. I tinted a Camry for $130, and it was $159 back then, now the price is $179, and he still gave it to me for $130. Give them a call or just show up...
