Remote Start

Do the manual models come with the remote start? I have a feeling they don't... can't explicitly find the info anywhere though. I'm looking to buy a 2004 model. And why are all the G35's out there automatics??? :dunno:

no usually manual's don't come with remote start. it's usually aftermarket. some people don't like them because there's been incidents where people left the car in gear and the next day when they started their cars it would run into a fence or something. there was one thread on clubrsx where the guy's car was on it's side because it jumped a curb and was like in a bush haha

They do not come on Gs. If you go aftermarket, be sure to get one with a safety that does not start the car if it is in a gear.

I have seen them on the automatic. There is one at the dealer near me (and was loving everything I was hearing about it until they mentioned auto... deal breaker!). Good to know they do come with a safety that it won't work if its in gear. I know I can remember to leave it in N but its other people that may drive and park the car that I don't trust! How much do you think I could expect to pay for an after market one and installation?

there are all sorts of aftermarket ones...

Viper, Python ( which is the same as viper btw because direct electronics make them both), clifford, and compustar are just some to name

However, while most of the ones I listed above Only the Compustar comes with the bypass which will let you autostart while the other alarms will require more work for the installer to make a custom harness so your car can start without u disengaging the clutch...
