OFFICIAL "What Mods Should I Buy for my Coupe?" Thread

We've had quite a few of these lately by people who have gotten bitten by the mod bug or are new owners.

So, if you've got general questions about what mods you should get next, post them up here. For questions about specific mods, please see the tech area.

I'm new so bare with me. Can someone explain the spacer thing to me on what exactly its doing to create the horsepower, cause I'm perplexed on how a spacer is creating 8-10 hp.

It's starting to remind me of when my350z started to get like this almost 3 years ago...

If things get continue to get out of hand, I'm gonna start roasting some n00bs on Cru's behalf... :D

In the meantime, thanks Kernel for setting this up.

The info is here somewhere, but it seems to be buried pretty deep... basically, the spacer isn't increasing the volume of air per sey, it's giving the air more surface area on the wall to smooth out and flow into the runners better.

I think it will prevent a few of the new threads, but anyone who misses it will now have their posts merged into this one. I'd do it to the ones from the past few days, but it would show their posts first instead of my op.

Good idea. I try to keep these down with the big FAQ in the sedan section. I think I need to start one of these in there too.

kernel 02-26-2009 07:48 PM

Tim the FAQ you have is amazing. Maybe when I'm done with my thesis I'll make one for this section, but it's something that will definitely require time I just don't have at the moment.

chering88 02-26-2009 08:01 PM

stillen.com has the z-tube for approx. 60 bucks, cheaper than i've seen it anywhere else
