Issues w/ coupe

It has been a bad day for today. I found out acid somehow damaged my 2 month old Racing Hart rims and cannot be fixed at all. Then as I'm leaving the movies I hit the damn curb and further damage my rear wheel.. its like damn I just can't win. THEN I get the oil pressure light after getting the oil changed about 2 weeks ago. This has been a minor issue since my transmission was replaced in March, but it has gradually gotten worse and now its just ridiculous, 2 weeks and I've gone through 4 or 5 quarts of oil. From what I understand this isn't something that can just be fixed, it could go as far as replacing the engine, and I know getting them to cover this under warranty would be a b*tch because I have aftermarket equipment on my car (exhaust, cats, pop charger) Anyone else have problems with burning oil so quickly?

I think the most prudent thing to do is take your car to the dealer and have them look at it ASAP. If your coupe is burning that much oil it can only point to very serious issues.

Don't worry about how the dealer will respond to your mods right now. Take it one step at a time.

I wish you the best!

There are several guys on my350z.com that are having problems with burning oil. Some of them have had their engines replaced.

I've done 2 oil changes on my coupe so far now (@2K and 5500 miles). I pulled out about 4 quarts on the first change and I only pulled out about 3 quarts out of the 4.5 quarts I put in for the first oil change. I'm at about 8K miles and it'll be time for another change pretty soon. I put in a full 5 quarts last time and I'll measure how much comes out very carefully. If I pull out any less than 3.5, then I'll have to have Infiniti look at this. I think burning 1.5 quarts in less than 4K miles is excessive.

well there is a g owner with an aftermarket supercharger that claims to be consuming 1qt every 1K miles.

have you checked the little things like making sure the oil drain plug isn't just a bit loose?

do you have multiple infiniti dealers in your area??? if one refuses to service because of the mods, you can always take it to another.
