Knocking sound from the rear

Hello, I have an 04 Coupe (AT), non-Brembo. I hear a hollow knocking sound from the rear of my car. It happens when I'm going in the 10 to 20 mph range. Going faster there is no sound. It makes me think that something is loose. Also it only happens when the car rocks left and right, and sometimes when I slow down fast. I took my trunk apart to make sure it wasn't anything in there causing it, but I still got the knocking sound. I don't know if it is coming from the rear bumper... I checked to make sure my muffler wasn't loose and I shook it by hand to make sure it wasn't loose. Anyone know what could be the problem?

Thanks

sounds like endlinks or swaybar bushings

Could you elaborate on it? Like what is the problem with the endlinks or swaybar and how to resolve it? I've got the g35 manual, so I can find my around to fixing it myself. Just need to know the cause and possible fix.

Thanks

I found something on Google. When I get home I will check it.

I checked my swaybar and endlinks and they looked pretty solid. I hit them with a hammer just to make sure they were not loose. The bushings were hard...are they supposed to be hard? I still here the knocking/clunking sound. It happens now when I'm slowing down now. It sounds like something is "free floating". Sometimes I will hear 2 knocks... I'm thinking about taking out the sway bar and end links and doing a test drive. I can always hear it when backing out of my drive way.

Are you sure its not coming from the sun roof? I hear my sunroof "pop" from body flex when I enter/exit my driveway.

Yea, I have that same pop sound, or almost like something rolling around in the trunk and hitting the wall when i stop. I think it's a bushing underneith but I haven't got under there to check them yet.

another one here.. specially when i go over a bump or an uneven lane ... its usually 2 knocks.. i took it to nissan and they didnt find anything(i guess they were lazy to check, because they didnt charge me anything).. one thing though: its an annoying sound.. if u need an illustration of the whole rear back bumper let me know

I incurred the same problem with my sunroof issue. My car is under warranty and i took it to the infiniti dealer and they tore the roof paneling off inside the car and found it to be the sunroof mechnaism that needed to be tightened cuz it was loose. I would hear it when i went in and out of my driveway as well.
