Initial Meter Reading

Re: Initial Meter Reading
most cars that are ordered come with minimal miles on them 5 miles or less......if your car was in stock at another dealer or maybe used for a few test drives, it is quite possible....
My car had only 4 miles when I took delivery of it.....

Re: Initial Meter Reading
In CA, the legal limit is 5000 miles to still be considered a NEW car. I heard this from my credit union who has diff rates for new/used car loans.
I was stupid and didn't look at the mileage when I bought my car. 170 miles!! I almost $hit a brick when I saw the form. I have nightmares about what happened to the car before I had it.

Re: Initial Meter Reading
My Coupe was delivered with 7 miles, my Sedan with 6.
Since Jan.-03 I've accumulated 11k miles on the Coupe, but they've been some of the best miles I've ever driven.

Re: Initial Meter Reading
How did your dealer get the car? My G had 44 miles on it when I got it. But my other car had 70, and here's how it happened.
I got the VIN number, as it was still at the factory.
It was being delivered to a dealer in detroit.
My dealer did a trade, and the car got loaded onto a train.
It was delivered to a dealer about an hour outside of town.
My dealer sent a salesmen to pick it up, and drive it to the local dealer.
They wouldn't let me pick it up, because of "liability", as they said it's still under the manufacturer's name or dealer's name or something....
My other friend bought a new M3 from a dealer in LA, but similar situation, and the dealer drove it up from San Diego...
As long as its less than 100 miles, I wouldn't worry about it...

Re: Initial Meter Reading
My Coupe was picked up from the Dealer and was still wrapped in plastic from shipping. There was a card in the glove compartment that was signed by a technician and liste the mileage as 8. When I got it from the dealer it had 12 miles on it. Did any of you guys get one of those factory inspection cards as well? Just curious.
