Note to self: Don't wear watch
Noticed some scratches on the titanium finish part of the door handle a few days after i got the car. Thought to myself "how the hell did that get there?" Then closed the door and looked down at the scratches and what do i see...my watch on my wrist located right where the scratches are. Damn it that hurt. So now I don't put on my watch in the morning until i get outta the car.
Just a tip i didn't notice anywhere else on the site. 6MT DG/DG, aero, nav, premium = hotness North Jersey |
Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
I decided not to drive myself crazy worrying about things like that. I feel it will take away from enjoying the G and life in general

Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
LOL mine got scratched the FIRST DAY I got it. I got into the car to drive it home and I had a nice black deep scratch on that handle.

Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
I knew what this post was about before even reading it. I keep my badge for work in the cubby on the drivers door. I have a couple of small scratches at the bottom of the handle from grabbing the darn badge.
What really ticks me off is the fact that every-so-often I close the door and the damn seat belt buckle is twisted 90 degrees. I hear the most awful noise and realize that I have yet another small dimple in my door where the plastic buckle is sandwiched between the seat and the door. Boy I really love this car none-the-less!!! The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right! |

Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
If he replaces the trim he will only scratch it again when he least expects too.
On the first day I had the G, I scratch the trim, took it back and told them that they sold it too me like that (its possible) within a month the trim was scratched again. |
Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
$12??? Wow that's cheap, i guess we get what we pay for =) HAHA anyway same thing happened to my aluminum trim, and i notice my watch catches the stearing wheel to :/ So i try to wear it on the right hand until i get out. Martin

Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
You know what's really odd?
I don't wear a watch and I have some scratches in that same location. I am completely puzzled as to where they could have come from. Perhaps my situation is similar to neffster's. I always put my wallet and cell phone in that side cubby whenever I drive the car (otherwise they fall outta my pockets). So maybe taking my cell phone out of there causes the door handle trim to scratch. ____________ MrElussive 03 G35C 6MT |

While I love my G, this is to me the most annoying aspect of the car. I have to manually lower the arm so that the belt is behind the door opening everytime I get out of the car. The nicks in the door from the seatbelt are the only nicks on the car...to date... 2004.5 6MT/C/TB/Prem/Aero |
Re: Note to self: Don't wear watch
Someone needs to make aftermarket doorhandle covers in that brushed aluminum that we have on other parts of the car. Also, I want replacement door handles. Maybe I'll see about having them being made and produce enough to sell to you guys. I don't know where to begin looking though.

Yes, from the dealer. My dealer replaced one for free why their service guy scratched one while working on the window streaks. The center console fake aluminum trix is 18.99, if I remember correctly. Grubbs carries them but I don't remember the part numbers. Coupe CB/Willow/5AT/Prem/Perf Tire & Wheel/Splashguards/Alum Pedals |
