I'm seafoaming and I have two questions...

My first question is rather dumb, but I've seen conflicting information and just want to be sure. How much oil does our engine hold?

Second question is also rather dumb, where is the throttle body located?

I appreciate any help you all can offer!

Nevermind, I found the answers I needed...

Are you going to put a third in the tank and a third in the oil and suck the rest in the intake like it says? I just pulled the vacumm plug and misted it in the intake and then stuck a bit in the gas.

I followed the below DIY and basically put a whole can in my tank, half a can in the oil and half a can brake booster line. It seemed to work really well. Since my car is newer I didn't notice much of a difference, but it sure smoked out neighborhood.

I have done this to my past 3 cars and came out with great results

i just pull the vaccumm line and have it suck the whole body.

runs good.

expect a lot of smoke .

ive been using seafoam for a while, but never thought the G35 was old enough to try it..

anyways for best results... get one of those spray nozzles from a windex bottle; thus creaitng a misty mixture of air and seafoam... it's easier to not stall this way, if that makes sense

^how old car should be to use seafom?

JUM3 Jan 11, 2010 04:58 AM

id imagine 90K+ miles or something

I did it on a car with 80K and barely got any black smoke. The guys at Napa auto told me I should do it every 10K but i never thought that was necessary.

but at every oil change I use to throw half a can in my tank.

what a timely topic. Youtube recommended this video to me:

its a DIY step 2 parts, of seafoaming a 350z. should be the same.

good luck

I have seen cars smoke way more than that! But that video pretty much sums it up.

I have done this procedure on both of my cars. I prefer to use the BG 406 Throttle Body and Intake Cleaner. Works much better IMO.

I normally don't let my car idle like that either. I take it for a 15 or so minute drive.

*EDIT* I understand it's 1 full can for the gas tank, about a half can for the oil, and the other half can for the brake booster line. Then you use the deep creep 1/2-2/3 can into your TB and intake, let it idle for 10-15 minutes, go drive the piss out of it, then change your oil within 100-250 miles? I hope this is all, I think at about 90k miles, I need it.

Is it possible to do 1/2 can in the oil and 1/2 in the tank? I don't know how to put seafoam through my intake.
