G35 Extended Warranty?

Is there one? I think i heard the dealer say something but just wanted to see if anyone on here knew of such a thing.

I think our is 3 years/36k miles. I'll probably hit that within 1.5 years.

Can anyone enlighten us?

Our warranty is 4 years, 60k. Our powertrain is 6 years, 70k. The extended warranty is 7 years, 100k for $1344. I just ordered it from Grubbs Infiniti. They have an August special that ends today and you can get it at cost. Just call them and say that you are a Freshalloy member.

Re: G35 Extended Warranty?

Someone told me that with the extended warranty, they only have to replace with like age/quality. For instance, if your motor goes at 80,000 miles, they can replace it with one that also has 80K miles on it. Is that true?

ALso, is the extended warranty through Infiniti or some outside company? I've heard of people who have gotten screwed over with these companies being nowhere to be found when it comes time to pay up.

Re: G35 Extended Warranty?

Uh...no. The extended warranty is just like the bumper to bumper warranty currently on your car. It is through Infiniti so even if you get it at Grubbs, you can use at any dealership.

Just curious... is this ext. warranty transferrable to the new owner when I sell?

I also called Grubbs regarding the extended warranty. It is bumper to bumper warranty but does not cover wearable items such as brake pads and rotor, windshield wiper and etc. So I decided to save my money on those wearable items which will need replacing as the motor and power train seems very reliable except maybe for the axle (which needs retorquing).

Re: G35 Extended Warranty?

I just bought the extended warranty from Grubb.

6 Additional years, 80k Additional miles, bumper to bumper. and I also got the wheels/tires warranty for 3 years. Now I can get a set of $4000 wheels with peace of mind. Worth it IMO. IIRC, my dealership tried to charge me at least $1000 over what Grubb is offering. Not to mention the warranty os FROM THE DAY OF WARRANTY PURCHASE. Good deal

Heh !
I believe that the wheel/tire warranty is only on what was sold with the car. It does not cover aftermarket rims

"Heh !

Over on FreshAlloy, Grubbs has said that it covers whatever rims/tires are on the car at the time... It is not limited to stock wheels/tires.

Of course, people can say whatever they want. I would only go by the fine print on the contract.

Re: G35 Extended Warranty?

Wear and tear items are usually the biggest expense: shocks, rubber hoses, rubber suspension isolation bushings, motor mounts, tranny mounts, belts, brake pads and rotors, engine seals after the oem warranty and before real rotating failures start.

Most major rotating systems don't start to fail till after 120k if maintained. AC, alternator, etc.

Since the design point is 100k to make sure the under 70k costs are kept low.

Wear and tear and fluid replacements [non failure just not in spec] are never covered by extended warranty because these items cost multi thousands to replace............otherwise extended warranty would have to cost $2000-$3,000 every 30,000 miles ~~ 10 cents per mile driven or $1500 per year plus tires and brakes.

Re: G35 Extended Warranty?

Grubbs quoted me an additional 2 years and an additional 22,000 miles (total of 6 year 82,000 miles) for $2495. That is an absolute rip-off!!! I asked them if the 6 years was added to the end of the factories 4 year warranty and Danny said "NO".

FYI, I had ~7500 miles on my G when I called Grubbs. I will never do business with them. Just offering me that policy when I can go to GEICO for $60 for 6 months up to 100,000 miles with no time limit is a blatent SCAM!!! Plus GEICO will throw in road side assistance on my car...
