Removing Test Pipes?
I searched but couldnt find anything about the removal...
So I bought my 2005 G35 today and already got thrown a CEL light about the cats.. It currently has test pipes but I dont really care for the rasp and he gave me the stock cats. Can anyone point me in the direction of a DIY for replacing the cats or test pipes?? Couple of questions.. Do test pipes require aftermarket o2 sensors? He didnt give me any sensors, so im worried ill have to buy stock sensors.. Any other tips would be helpful.. Other then that, I love the car and hope to have it for quite awhile. Thanks |
just swap the o2s from the tp to the oem cats |
I just installed test pipes and am already dreading the swap when smog is up.
It's only difficult since my Test Pipes have side branch resonators. You may need an extension but... It's really a straight forward installation. 14MM deep socket on 3 bolts connecting the Test Pipes to headers. The 2 bolts on each side of the Y Pipe. If your TP didn't have a O2 bung or sensors you will neeed them if you put your stock CATs back on. |
You may need non foulers or an extension to keep it out of direct path of the exhaust.

Sounds like it should be pretty straight forward. Thanks for the help guys..

if you do remove them ...sell them to me!

they suck to get off and back on... get extension though

take it to the mechanics and they do it for you. i don't think its gonna be that much.
