Got my Vortech'ed G back and...
 

The car sounds amazing! They put in on a dynapack there at the install shop and it put down 340rwhp (300ftlbs) to the wheels. The A/F was between 12.2 abd 13.09...not happy with this but it was expected since I have hi-flo cats and Injen exhaust. I have a tune day next Thursday and I plan to have him tune it based on getting the A/F in the high 11 range, even if it means I give up a few ponies. Any suggestions on how I can get my A/f down AND retain my ponies? I also plan to retard the timing 1 degree for every pound of boost above 2psi abd 2 degrees at the top (for a total of 8 degree at 8psi). This was recommended by many other Vortech owners.

One question I have is, should I be afraid to open it up with my current A/F numbers. I've been shifting at 3500rpm just to play it safe until I asked this question.

Congrats on your new Mod Randy......

Just please be careful running that thing until you get the whole fuel/air ratio set up right.....

Too many of the board members are having engine failure due to weak rods.......Remember this engine was set up for N/A...

Now with that all said.....Go out and have a blast....let us know your new track times.....I bet you knock off a couple tenths with that set up! j/k more like a couple seconds.....

You should be ok, the only problem area is at full boost and high rpm. Just watch it until you hit Dyno. Did you get a copy of the R4 software and do you have the USB connection for adjusting Fuel and Timing..

I have the R4 software, but what USB connection do I need? Is it just a standard A to B or is it proprietary(sp?) What RPM do you think I should shift at until the tune? Can I go above 3500rpm? I haven't even felt the power of this thing cuz of the A/F thing. Or, are you saying, I can shift at around 4500-5000 but not to keep it there too long.

Man your lucky LOL, be safe with it, have your fun but be safe with the engine and of course with your safety !! Get some pic's up, and def. some videos of drives or idle rev's, hardly anyone does that!! =)
