New to Infiniti's, please help

Hey guys. I just recently bought an 03 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6 Speed and I was driving on the freeway going 60 mph in fifth gear and all of the sudden I lost all power and it was bogging down on me. I pulled off to the side of the road and the car died on me. It is currenty sitting at the repair shop waiting to be looked at on Monday. I am wondering if you guys could give me any information of what I should expect it to be when they check it out. My check engine light was coming off and on prior to this occurrence. Thanks, and any info would be helpful. Thanks, Evan

i have a 04 G35 coupe and when i was driving on the highway my G all the sudden just shut down and i couldnt accelerate so i pulled over. I have the Check engine light on but my car started back up. so i went to the infiniti dealership and they said it was a bad throttle body so they replaced it and no problems ever since.(knock on wood). BTW i have a 5AT though so i dont think my post will do you any good but just wanted to share.

sounds like a bad throttle body.

About how much would this be to repair?

Blue Dream Jul 11, 2010 09:29 PM

You can get a brand new TB from Riverside Infiniti for a little over $200. They are a vendor on Driver and have great prices and really good service to our members. Replacing it yourself would only take about 30-45 minutes with basic tools. It's very simple.

throttle body or just the battery...

battery died on me with 5800 miles on it in the middle of the highway when I was going 80.... all of a sudden the dash lit up with every light and lost all power.

Didn't know it was that easy to replace. Yeah either battery or throttle body, although was your radio working when you turned off the highway?

The battery was working still, its pretty new. They are going to be checking it out today so I will let you guys know what the problem ended up being. Thanks for your guys' help! I like this forum already lol

Well guys...turned out that is not the problem. I had all six coils replaced, new plugs, and new cats. I am still having a misfire. I have an appointment at the dealership on Monday. I really hope this is something easy. So do you guys still think it is the throttle body?
