attn dropped G35C's

i recently lowered my G35C about an inch. i scrape the underbody almost every speed bump or angled driveway, mostly because of the G's long wheelbase.

has anyone run into problems with too much scraping of the underbody over time? what area of the underbody is hitting the ground most of the time? anyone checked? i'm worried.

the heat shield on the second catalytic converters and the flex joints on the y-pipe seem to get scraped up the most for me.

With a one inch drop, you really shouldn't get that much scraping unless you are hitting every driveway / speed bump straight on. Trick is to angle in more for steep driveways & bumps. The steeper it is the more angle you'll need to enter w/o scraping or to minimize scraping.

Re: attn dropped G35C's

Anyone have any clearance issues at oil-change places, mechanics' lifts, etc.?

Reason I ask is that I was limitited on where I could get my '97 GSX serviced due to the lack of clearance over pits and bulky lifts. I lowered about 1- 1.25", but that generation of Eclipse sits low up front anyway I suppose.

Just wondering, as that turned out to be a pain in the ***. I couldn't even get a floor jack under the car unless I used the OEM jack to gain some clearance first. I'd hate to get into the same jam with a 1" drop on the G.

No doubt the drop looks good.

Re: attn dropped G35C's

i have tanabe GF210 made for the 350Z. on the spec sheet, it says 1" drop but in reality for the G35, it's really 1.8" i think.

i angle my approach at all speed bumps and driveways, and it still scapes. i'm considering putting my suspension back to stock. i didnt know the G35 would have this much problems with scraping. i think it's mostly has to do with the long wheelbase.

I have the RSR Ti2000 springs made for the 350z. I have about a 1" drop all around.

I still have to very careful with driveways and speedbumps though. I can't imagine what it would be like with an 1.5" drop.

I have Eibach and they say an inch, but I think it was more like 1.25-1.50.. but dont have any rubbing issues. Only rubs on lifts and auto car washes (only did it once, usually hand wash at home)

2003 BLK/BLK 6MT Injen, clear corners, Eibach sways and springs, tint

Re: attn dropped G35C's

This car has major clearance issues in my opinion. I have mine at stock height and nothing seems to clear it. In fact one time a 2 liter pepsi bottle got stuck underneath the car. Thats freakin ridiculous for stock height. Nothing clear the underbody of this car. Thank God I leased it or I would have already dropped it and been scrapping a whole lot more. I love the lowered look.
