Motordyne XYZ + Berk HFC's?

So... Im looking to add a deeper growl :DOMO: and a few more horses to the G without adding a Catback exhaust.. Headers are out of the question.. And I definetly dont wanna run test pipes or straight pipe.. I want to keep the Cat's. So, I was thinking about going Motordyne XYZ pipe with resonator module and pairing it with Berk's HFC's.. Anyone have any experience with these products? I mean, I've read the Spec's and Info on the product's, even seen the dyno chart on the HFC's.. But haven't seen any real reviews.. Does this sound like a good setup for what im trying to achieve?.. Other suggestions? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks in advance..

I ran that set up with a Stillen exhaust.
You will get the deeper growl alright!
Almost undriveable between 18-2500 rpm! The drone was horrible!

With the XYZ, you can use test pipes AND a HFC.

I have MD ART pipes sitting here waiting to get installed. No cat back yet cuz MD seems to be on a huge back order on them.

What do you mean by Drone?

type in exhaust drone on youtube youll know what he means haha its unbearable when youre trying to talk to a lady in the car thats for sure!!

Looked up exhaust drone.. So would you advise against the setup?.. I wonder how much your Stillen exhaust played a role in the Exhaust Drone.. Also, I thought the resonator was supposed to help with that?.. You did run the XYZ with the resonator Module not the straight pipe module correct?.. Would you favor or recommend one or the other in terms of creating the throaty growl? HFC vs XYZ pipe.. Or did you add them at the same time?

I have an 04 Coupe w/Berk HFC, MD XYZ / resonator pipe and stock exhaust. There is no drone. During normal driving it's got a much deeper tone and is barely louder than stock. Get on it and it growls sweet, not obnoxious. I really like the sound and have held up looking for a catback.

Quality of all MD parts is top notch. The Berk's are pretty good too.

Hey LMG would you mind uploading a sound clip of your exhaust. I was wanting to get the same setup just want to make sure I like the 'growl.'

Thanks for the feedback LMG... I was pretty set on getting this setup. It's good to hear positive reinforcement. I have to do this in a 2 step process.. Would you recommend I get the HFC's or the XYZ first?.. From your experience, Which product gave you the most improvement? From a growl and HP standpoint?.. Thanks for your help.

Very interested in this setup as well since I have Berk HFCs on stock exhaust. I was told by Tony that on stock exhaust the XYZ would add about 7whp...almost like adding HFCs. However, on a catback it's a lot more so I think I might just save up for the TDX.

+1. Test pipes (preferably ART pipes) + xyz w/hfc module.

You shouldn't have drone with the stock exhaust.

I did them together so I can't comment directly but if you have to make a choice then I'd venture that the XYZ would be better to do first otherwise you'd be feeding the HFC into a straw...I mean stock Y-pipe. Besides the HFC are a challenge to install so be prepared with all the right tools.

G is not my daily driver. I'll try to post sound clip this weekend.

I think this setup will be a lil louder than Im looking for.. Correct me if im wrong.. In theory shouldnt the XYZ resonated w/ HFC's create a slightly less tone than the ART pipe/ XYZ w/Cat?

Scratch that.. I've been researching Motordyne's ART Pipes.. Didnt know they were resonated.. Thought they were straight pipe.. Im glad these forums exist.. The ART pipes paired with the XYZ/Cat module actually now sounds like a better plan.. I absolutely appreciate the help guys.. Again im going to have to do this in a 2 step process. Prolly go ART pipes first.. Maybe next week. As sooon as I have them installed I will definitely give my personal review. :bowrofl:
