Trading in my G35 for CTS Coupe
I went in and test drove one of the new Cadillac CTS Coupes, not the CTS-V, but the performance model. It is equipped with a direct injected 304 HP 6 cylinder. I am going to have to order mine as they are not going to have any manual 6 speed cars in the showroom soon.
Here's my question; When I asked him what he would give me as a trade in for the G, I had $19,500 for a response. I think this is a fair amount, but I wanted to ask you experts for your thoughts. I have all options except nav. 6 speed manual, 43,000 miles on my '06. Body is perfect without one ding. Stock except for grill and Flowmaster. Please tell me your opinions. I have only owned the car for about 6 months and it has to be one of the best cars I've ever owned, and I've owned over 52 cars in my life. But I've been following the Cadillac for 3 years now since it was a prototype and I've fallen for the girl hard! :dunno: |
You're gonna wish you kept your G when the caddi starts F'ing up on you. Personally I'd keep the G, But hey it's not my car..
|
the CTS coupe is one of the ugliest cars iv ever seen
|
If i would get that car it would be only CTS-V Sedan if not i would keep the G.

Sounds reasonable to me. But that CTS coupe is just ugly as hell. Maybe it looks better in person though.
|
CTS coupè has 300hp but I would go with the g37 coupè that has 330hp...
The CTS coupè is a sexy car and looks fresh on the road... |
KBB the trade in value for your car, dealers won't always give you what it's really worth b/c they're in the business of making money. Also pick up the latest copy of Motor Trend if you haven't already. Good Luck

Don't listen to these biased fools.. Those pics are nasty and don't do the car justice.. I love it when people compare cars they always find the worst angles and ugliest pics of a car they can find..
I saw a CTS coupe at the casino a week ago and it looks pretty awesome! It didn't just get my attention, it had me staring at it.. Looks so nice and futuristic. Gotta see it in person to like it. Besides, the G is heavily outdated by todays standards.. Especially as a luxury car. Go for it, and thats a good asking price on trade in.. Don't let them low ball you. Don't worry about any breakdowns either.. There's warranty for a reason. |
^ have to agree.
I didn't like it very much until I saw it in person. If you pull the trigger, make sure it's a CTS-V. |
I love the direction Cadillac is going but the CTS coupe just does nothing for me. The profile of the car just looks awkward, like the whole rear window down to the decklid, just doesnt look like a coupe to me, I think the C pillar is too bulky making it look like a station wagon/huge hatchback.
I say see what they say if you ask for $21k for youre car. You can always order a CTS from any dealership... if one doesnt give you what you want for your G, move on to the next one. |
Oh yeah, it's looks great...if it were the year 2000.
The G is sexy and your making her feel like you're a traitor! :) It does look better than most of the standard things Detroit puts out (also the Buick Rendezvous...now that is a hot SUV!) But hey...enjoy! |
Im not biased at all, as much as you are paying might as well get a 335i coupe
|
Go with the XLR!!!!!!!
