I'm at 56k. What maintenance is needed??

Hi guys. I have a 2006 6MT coupe. Aside from regular oil changes and cleaning the aftermarket air filter, I haven't done much. What's usually recommended at 60k, and how much can I expect to pay from a non-dealer?

the_sedan Sep 5, 2010 01:01 PM

coolant service, trans service, rear diff service, in-cabin filter, wipers, and belts.....and check your brakes and for any leaks. thats bout it at a 60k.

Belts and every fluid you can think of....

The 60K mile maintenance is just like the 30K mile, ALL fluids and belts, check brakes and suspension. Then you're good for another 30K carefree miles....

brake and p/s fluids are necessary. we dont include them in our major services at work cuz its a waste of money IMHO.

Do you guys think its really necessary to do all of those fluids? Example, for automatics, the diff is a closed system, so why would we want to open it up to replace the fluids? (dont know much about that, that's why i ask)

Not looking to cheap out here, but im not sure what is actually required and whats BS that the dealer tries to get you to pay for.

^ All Fluids Break down you want fresh fluids so you can get the protection the fluid is there for.

Also the Diff has a fill and drain bolt, its not a sealed/closed system.

And Yea if you haven't done power steering OP do it, Mine was black at almost 47k
