Won't work. Sorry guys. There is an article on snopes discrediting this as well.

Proven? i read the entire thread and don't see any proof. I don't see it how a digital high frequency RF can be recorded by a mic and retransmitted via speaker. Or lets just hypothetically say, somehow the rf is encoded by phone one and audibly played through the speaker on phone 2. This is so messy of a transfer I don't see how the digital encryption would not decay beyond and recognizable sequence the car could react too. Of course I may be wrong. But I don't see any proof that it works yet.

I'll be the geek.

htttp://www.snopes.com/autos/techno/keyless.asp

"Relaying remote entry system signals via telephone might work if the signals were sound-based, but they're not. An RKE system transmits an encrypted data stream to a receiver inside the automobile via an RF (radio frequency) signal, a signal that can't be effectively relayed via cell phone. (In any event, RKE systems and cell phones typically operate on completely different frequencies; the former in the 300 MHz range and the latter in the 800 MHz range.)"

Tried it on my car with Samsung e715 phones. My wife held on to the phone and I was in the back yard. It didn't work. Haven't tried it with my regular phone yet.
