wife's car starts then dies, please help!

My wife has an 03 auto G35 coupe. It has an AEM CAI on it and has been giving me trouble every since a hard rain the other day. This happened once before, but the problem went away the next day. After that, I installed the water bypass valve and thought I would be ok from then on. Well, the filter was completely saoaked and the car would miss a little and die every now and then. I went ahead and cleaned the air filter since it was wet, gently blew the MAF with air to make sure it was dry, and cleaned the throttle body without removing or unplugging it. Every since I did this, now it just starts clean, chuggs a bit and dies. If you touch the throttle, it dies imediately. I did the thottle learn procedure and it didn't change. I swapped the MAF from my 05 frontier and that didn't fix it, but her MAF ran fine on my truck for a few days. I tried a brand new throttle body and did the learn procedure again and it still hasn't changed. If I unplug the MAF, it cranks and idles fine, but of course you can't rev it. Today, for the hell of it, I tried another MAF and nothing. I have searched until I am blue in the face and can't figure this out. Please help! I don't know what else it could be.

could be a bad cps sensor. But i would get a obdii reader and pull the codes and take the guessing work out.

Sorry to hear about your wife dying after starting the car.

I forgot to mention there are no codes. I just changed the crank sensor a few months ago. I wouldn't think it was that seeing that it runs fine when you unplug the MAF. Besides, I am certain that this is directly related to water getting in the intake.

I have had the battery disconnected overnight a few times and it didn't help.

Is the throttle reset the same for all years? If it was done incorrectly, would it act like this? The reason I askis that I tried the ecu reset steps that I found and I never was able to get the light to flash.

Has anybody ever had a bad ecu cause this?
