tire hop
Hello all. Im just attempting to find a way to fix the G35's wheel/tire hop. When i run throught the gears, 9 out of 10 times i experience wheel hop. This generally occurs on hard 1st gear launches, shifting into 2nd gear, and sometimes going into 3rd gear. I was woundering how people who have experienced this have fixed the issue.
I have 350z tein h-techs on stock struts and shocks. I just want to fix this before i do damage to my rear diff, or any other part of my drive line. Thanks |
Solid Rear Diff mounts

Solid diff mounts, coilovers, softer tires,

How many miles on your G? If you have lots of miles on your shocks they're weak and don't respond well to the torque you're throwing at them. Weak shocks and entry level tires will result in wheel hop....:icon43:

yeah im still on the stock potenzas in the rear. and the car only has 58000… so i really dont think that my rear shocks are blown, and it dosnt feel like they are either.

H-techs have a softer spring rate than OEM. that has something to do with it as well

58k miles. Your shocks are gone.

my stock shocks (2006 revised) got pretty bad at around 60k after having 350z H-techs installed for about 40k miles. I have upgraded to tokico HP Blues (350z) and it was a pretty good upgrade from stock for sure. Mind you there is still a bit a wheel hop but not as bad as it was before.
As others have recommended, look into solid rear diff bushings and also, I've heard a diff brace does wonders for wheel hop as well. |
Just get coilovers. The car will handle a lot better and you will get rid of your wheel hop.
