I Chris Brown'd Rihanna! (I dented the rear bumper of my red G35)

What's the best course to fix the damage?

Would it be more efficient to get a new bumper (I found an OEM primed bumper on kijiji for $200)

OR

To have it smoothed out and repainted??

Halp!

i think new bumper painted is the cheaper route

monteitis Feb 7, 2011 10:10 AM

hmm well they'll have to R&I that bumper to fix it anyway, so compare the labor cost of repairing the actual dent to $200. Whichever is cheaper, go that route. And wash your car.

Chargespeed rear!

Gsouske35 Feb 7, 2011 10:41 AM

+1 on washing the car.

Don't think that one will smooth out very well. Opt for the replacement!

Xet Feb 7, 2011 11:26 AM

clean it up first then evaluate, hard to tell what is actually there

Hey all,

thanks for the replies! ...I guess i'll take it to my mechanic and see what he's charging and what kind of assurances he will give me as to the qualify of the finished repair vs. installation and paining of a new $200 bumper.

As for the Chargespeed bumper, I love the OEM bumper.. I find the little 'fins' on the chargespeed annoying!

aaand as for washing the car... I took these pics a week... Rihanna's been cleaned up since then!

I'll keep everyone posted as to what happens!

and just get a new bumper

Hahaha like the name of the thread. I had the same issue but I think painting a new one would be cheaper in your case.

xfuz1on Feb 7, 2011 12:11 PM

when was the last time you washed that car?

FuSiOn Feb 7, 2011 12:29 PM

When i see that picture of salt, it helps pass the winter season when my laser red G is stored away

phantomg35coupe Feb 7, 2011 12:30 PM

the same thing happened to me 2 months ago, but it was the other drivers fault. I think it was like 400 to fix it...she payed for all of it. btw it was repaired.

phantomg35coupe Feb 7, 2011 12:30 PM

double post..

adamls2 Feb 7, 2011 12:38 PM

my friend did the same exact thing to her car not too long ago...she also has a red G like urs...and it turns out that lil dent caused some damage to the frame and she had to repair it $$$...

but ya definetly clean it lolz :D
