Clutch Replacement Price??
Hey everyone!
I have a 2005 G35 6mt about 77,000 miles on it. Took it to AAMCO to see if the clutch had some life in it since I am going to Pensucola and driving about 500 miles every other weekend. They priced me at $2511 for a Luk Clutch, a OEM flywheel( $1211!!! dont know much about clutches, but the mechanic was talking about a dual mass clutch so I have to replace the flywheel since they can't modify the old flywheel ) installation, plus a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty. I searched and I see a bunch of people getting aftermarket flywheels from either ACT, Exedy or Z1. I asked the mechanic that and he was saying it wasnt a good idea and he has seen them come back a year later with clutch issues and they wear alot quicker. Is $2511 a good deal? the flywheel itself is $1211, installation is about $500, and the clutch is about $600. Thanks for the help! |
Waay overpriced, go aftermarket its much cheaper.

that is such a huge ripoff.....get OEM replacement clutch (Exedy) on ebay for under $240 shipped and labor should be about $400 and call it a day.

for that price, you cannot get it done at the dealership?

dude go after market, i picked up a JWT Heavy Duty Cluth and flywheel for $785 shipped and had a guy install it all for $200, dont ever go through the dealership for stuff like that you will just get raped. The dealer had the audasity to price me around the same amounts as they did you, (i knew a guy from the nissan dealer in my town and i was just seeing what they would do it for) 1200 for cluth and nother 1200 for the flywheel and 700 for labor. I literally laughed at the guy and asked him how they were still in buisiness. He pretty much said most ppl dont go aftermarket with stuff and dont know much about cars and cant even change the oil. I have to agree i know alot of ppl like that lol

ACT street or performance street version seems pretty good too.

Single mass flywheel on the g35 = cement mixer noise
You get this noise even with the oem dual mass, but it's even louder with the single mass. If you don't mind the cement mixer noise then aftermarket is 100% the way to go. Best of luck! |

Has anyone tried the eBay Exedy OE clutch? I was just told by a sponsor that their Exedy supplier told them anyone selling that clutch for under $300 shipped is selling a replica of their part.
For the record, this was after I asked the sponsor to price match the $233 eBay price for the Exedy NSK1000 OE clutch, after I was offered $329 shipped. Can anyone shed any light? |
