People with Windsheild Tint (Question For You)

Alright, so today my friend with a Challenger came over and showed me the tint on his car. He has 30 on the windshield and 15 everywhere else. I road around with him during the day and of course theres no problem. When I road with him at night, it didn't seem bad at all. He wheres contacts/glasses and says he has no problems from the windshield, just the side windows. Has anyone ever had problems with tint on the front? I'm thinking about going 35. The sun coming through just the front is starting to give me headaches. I have 20% all around except none on windshield. And it would also help keep a little more sun from heating up my black interior.

I drove a 2011 Shelby GT 500 in charcoal color at work that had 5% tint all around including windshield. It is fine in the day time, at night, you can't see ****.

I wear glasses and have those transitional lenses that get dark in the sun. But they don't get that dark when I'm sitting in the car. And prescription sunglasses cost a lot. Especially if your eyes are as bad as mine. I'm colorblind (so they say) and have astigmatism.

Before you waste your $$ on tinting your windshield check with your local state laws....there are very few areas that allow windshield tint. And, if you've ever driven a car with 5% tint it's doable in the day time but at night you may as well be in a cave....plus law enforcement hates not being able to see who's in a car!

I would never tint my windshield. Wear sunglasses. FYI your transition lenses will not work well inside a car....reason? The windows and windshield block a lot of UV rays.

Go for 50% windshield or higher.

I'm about to take off my 35%. You can't tell the headlights are on at night when the road is wet.

+1
Its just asking to be pulled over.

Last I looked, here in Wa it's legal to only tint the front 6" down fromt the top and 6" up from the bottom......

I've had a tinted windshield before and loved it. Just stay around 35% and you should be ok. IMO a 35% tinted windshield is less noticeable than a 5% brow. I was pulled over for tint and they never said anything about the windshield just about the 5% on the sides.

I believe our state law is 30. My friends never been pulled over in a black Challenger with a white stripe down the middle. Black interior and 15% on everywhere and 30% on the front windshield. His car sticks out a lot. He also has some really flashy rims. He's never been pulled over for tint. I haven't heard of many people here in Bama getting pulled over for tint. Then even if I did, I would have a tint waiver.

If you're having headaches from the sun, you might be able to get your optometrist to write a note allowing for the windshield tint, provided your state laws allow for such shenanigans.

I believe i have 35% all around...and i like it and i can see very clearly at night but like stated above if i do it again i would go 50%+

On my subie I have a 50% tint on the windshield and 15% everywhere else. 50% isn't even noticeable and you still can't tell what's going on in the car. Whenever I get pulled over it's always a fix it ticket for the sides lol.
