All lights turn on when starting car, car doesn't start.

I turn my car on with key, it doesn't start but has these lights pop up

i turn my car off, then turn it back on and everything is back to normal and the car starts fine. This has happened a couple of times. What seems to be going out/the problem?

Those lights will always come on when you start the car, it does that so you know they are all still working they go out in a few seconds, as to your problem it could be many things does it crank over when you try to start it or do nothing?

No this is different. It does not crank.

It may be the starter or the battery. Those would be the first things I check.

Check to see if the battery isn't dying? How would I do that?

you have 1st-gen car with over 100k miles - if you haven't changed the battery yet, it's time to do it in any case.

Well any auto part store can do it for you, or if you have a voltmeter to measure the potential difference between the positive and negative terminals. But +1, if you have over 100k you def could use a new battery. I was having similar problems and had the battery replaced and the MAFS cleaned and my car hasn't been acting up at all since. I also reset the ecu with the pedal method once I got home, although that isn't necessary since a new battery does the same thing... GL!

BTW I am at 52k and an 06 coupe.

+ 1 on the battery or starter. I would start with the battery then move on from there.

Update.

Battery is fine. I took it to a shop, they had it for a couple days.

They said they remapped the computer and the problem should be fixed

2 days later, it happened again and sometimes the rpm will stall for 2 seconds then go to idle rpm on start up.

This is so frustrating and i gotta take it back in.

So a potential problem is the starter, anything else?
