Can the 6-disc changer play CD-RW's?

I don't think it will. At least my cd players in the past haven't. I think it's b/c you have to 'close' the cd before it will play in a regular cd player.

I'll try it when i get some time, it won't hurt to try...

I've had no trouble playing CD-RW's in either my Sedan or Coupe, but there's been some that have had trouble. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I have a DVD player in my apt. that wont even play CD-R's, well i guess that is what i get for buying one of the first dvd players.

me? i mean my dvd player wont play cd-R's let alone cd-RW's (yeah, its a POS)

but it is quite old, i guess its time for a new one... somthing with progressive scan..

I have the Bose system. My stereo has no problems playing CD-Rs. I never tried CD-RWs.

i have a sedan with the stock system and it didn't play my CR-RW the one time i tried. it does play CD-Rs with no problem though.

I think we determined back in November that it has to do with what kind of CD you're using. I tried 3 different kinds before I found one that worked.

Now I'm using Maxell CD-R Pro and I haven't had one problem. I tried this kind as someone recommended them. I know others have used Fuji as well, but not sure what kind.

Officially, no it can't. Unofficially, it depends.

And if your player jams, chances are the first thing they'll ask you is "do you have CD-R's in it?" You definately don't want to put in discs with printed labels.

It's a subtle hint in the owners manual.. they say only use CD's with the "Compact Disc DIGITAL AUDIO" logo. CD-R's and CD-RW's don't have this logo exactly.. they have "Compact Disc RECORDABLE" and "Compact Disc REWRITEABLE", respectively. Sneaky.

I use Mitsumi CD-Rs and they work great

most cd-burning programs wont even let you make an audio-cd on a cdrw disc.....

the infiniti 6-cd changer will play audio-cd's that are on cd-r's however

I won't take the chance of putting a CD-R with a printed label on it in the unit, but I've tried a Maxell CD-R that I'd burned a while back and it played fine, with the exception of one track that for whatever reason showed that it was playing, but there was no sound - but I got the same result from 3 different CD players, so it's nothing unique to the G35's unit. My guess is that particluar track had some kind of anti-pirating software imbedded in it, which would allow you to burn it, but not actually hear it, the bastages! Of course, all of the music was downloaded from Kazaa, so I have no idea what the original source for the files was.

I've had all PNY CD-Rs in my Bose since the day I got it with no probs. No idea on CD-RWs though.

What are you people using to make the CD-RW's? What program to make the CD's and what format do you convert the files to?
