All you CA folks....need help.
ok. so i'm getting married in vegas in october, late october. my girl and i like to go "motoring" in our convertible...not a g37...but a VW EOS.
so i'm trying to kinda plan a road trip type honeymoon. the rough plan is to fly from vegas to fresno rent a convertible and see the redwood forests, then drive over to the coast and down to LA over the course of 2 or 3 days. maybe stopping and staying some places for a day or two. my question to you guys...is what roads are good cruising routes and if there are cool things to do along the way. i know i want to go to the monterrey bay aquarium, but beyond that, not sure. we were out there last October and did san fran and all that, but it probably wouldn't be bad to drive thru again. appreciate any help you can throw my way.:JAMIN: |

people buy the Eos? We have 3 at my dealership that have been on the lot over 300 days. They are going to have to take 15K off to sell them.
Anyways, Pacific Coast High. |
Wrong sub-forum.
But +100 on the PCH. |
Yeah. Sorry, I just wanted it to be seen. :) but if it needs to be moved I understand.
I actually really like the EOS. Fun to drive. And the hard top convertible is awesome. But I'm gonna part ways with it before the warranty on that thing is up. But its got the turbo and the "autostick" thing. Thanks for the suggestions. Any attractions I should check out along the way? Wish I could take my G...some nice photo ops I'm sure... |
Like the rest said, PCH. My wife and I went from SD to Monterey on it and it was awesome. I had a trip planned to ride it on my CBR1000, however it got stolen. Either way, PCH all the way.
As far as attractions, there is the Hearst castle along the PCH, probably about 50 miles or so south of Monterey, along the way there are plenty of places to stop and see the wild life. Monterey as you know has cannery road. If you go to Carmel, don't waste your money on the 28 mile scenic route thing they have. Continuing south, obviously there are the famous beaches in LA to see. All in All, if you are going south, PCH is the most scenic. Of course if like the sun, heat, snakes, death, no water, etc, you could always go down through 29 Palms to Joshua Tree national park. |
