bought some 16" rims , they don't fit :(
 

Hey all,

I bought some 16" rims with some winter tires in hopes that I could drive a little during the winter here in MN. Well as I tried putting them on today, it looks like the brakes are too big for 16" rims. out $800 :( Should have done more research before buying off craigslist. Is there any way to solve this problem? installing smaller roters ? This is also my thread to vent about how stupid I was

It would be easier to buy new wheels, 17's SHOULD fit as long as you don't have the Brembos.

poo. I was so proud of myself talking the guy down $200 too...

If you did smaller rotors, you'd need different calipers too, and then you've lost braking ability... just buy another set of 17's. Sell the 16's on CL again, live and learn.

In what way is it not fitting? In overall vertical space? If that's the case you don't have much of an option. If it is more horizontal clearance spacers may be able to fix your situation.

Not really sure though, haven't really seen many people/if any running rims that small...

What year and transmission g35 coupe do u have?

the brake calipers are hitting the rim. I think I'm SOL. it's a 06 g35 manual

Time to put them back on Craigslist...

I think 16s would fit a 03/04 w/o Brembo, but the rotors and caliper got larger after 05.

Just sell them on CL, unless you have another car they can fit.

I just bought some wheels.

Turns out they were for R/C cars.
