Rattling noise from the plastic cover above the front passenger's feet
As of recent, I had my bose cd changer replaced because it was having problems with the driver's side speakers fading. Well, after I got my car back, I've noticed a horrible rattling sound. At first I thought my door panel was loose or the dash was loose. But when I sent to check things out it's the cheap plastic cover above the front passenger's feet. I tried taking it off and snapping it back on but it's still rattling. What should I do? Should I ask them to replace it? Or just take the cover off? Anyone having this problem? Also I noticed a rattling coming from the rear...but cannot locate where it's coming from anyone have any suggestions? The rattling is driving me nuts.

The rattle coming from under the driver's side dash may be something banging on the inside of the cover. Since you've had service in that area, that's likely the source.
The rattle in the rear may be coming from the shelf. A common issue with our G's and I believe there is a TSB on that one. Have the dealer look at it. :) |

Bring it in. The problem seems to as a result of teh speaker problem and should be corrected n/c by the dealer. GSM is right about the TSB on the rear shelf. I had it done on my car and it fixed the problem perfectly.

I was thinking about waiting to bring it in for an oil change at the same time. The rattling coming from under the passenger's dash is banging on a screw. There is actually a foamy thing that's supposed to cusion it but it seems to be wearing down or "flattening". So it's not as effective anymore.
Next oil change should work for you. These rattles and creaks come and go in the cold weather, I've learned to 'tune' them out now. ;) G/L C. |
