06 G35 Brembo's?

Hey guys... just got my hands on a 06 G35 and i am interested in swapping some brembo's on it... is it worth it? or do the stock brakes perform better? also if i do the swap what would i need other than the calipers? Thanks!!!

cant speak on brembo's behalf as i installed Akebono's (G37's)

but if I can compare my OEM's to the Akebono's

It's like walking and driving..... two different worlds.

Step on the brakes just SLIGHTLY and the car comes to a halt with no issues.... Slam on the brakes and it's like hitting a wall at 2000000 miles per hour. The brakes are so aggressive that I can bottom out the front shocks if I stomp on the brake pedal….. (I had to buy a new set of shocks already because of this)

Now again, these are different brakes than the brembo’s so I wouldn’t be able to attest to your setup.

There is a DIY for this. I have done this on my 06 coupe. You'll need new rotors, pads, etc. I added some Goodridge lines while I was at it. Also if you buy some Brembos that they have the pins to hold the pads in.

You'll need calipers, rotors, pads, brembo lines, and a different bolt for the rear caliper..everything else uses the factory stuff. Recently swapped my oem's for brembos...and its not a huge huge difference but your definitely working with more stopping power and it looks great

Sorry guys for most likely another brembo swap thread... New to the forum and also new to the G car , I am doing the swap mostly for the looks... Those brembo look sick!!! Mustang guy for a long time but had to let go of one of them and got me the G... Still have my 93 coupe that I will keep... This little car is a soldier ,still a 4 banter tho but in the new future I will build a 347 for it... Anyways I love the G , this car drives awesome just getting used to the clutch but I love it.

The brembos look great, but since the '06 brakes are already slighty larger, from what I hear they are remotely no different in stopping. Ask a member here iiiiekoiiii he has a '06 sedan like myself but he upgraded to brembos and said it isn't really worth it unless it's just for the look.

As for the parts you'll need the other members who posted mentioned it all.

I noticed a bit less brake fade. Swap isn't bad. Like everyone has stated already, swap is essentially a straight bolt on.

no need to change the BMC?

No^^

You'll be fine with the stocker.

The brembos disperse heat better than OEM and will have much much more fade resistance as well. Plus they look great :D

I say get the Akebono's. When you do your going to need an adapter with them. Akebono's would look so much better if you want to do this.

By adapter are you referring to the brake brackets?
