Transmission/Differential Maintenance

Transmission/Differential Maintenance
Hey guys,
I have an 03 coupe auto. It has about 90k miles on it. I haven't changed my transmission or differential fluid. When i switch to tiptronic mode, car lags a lil bit when i switch from 1st to 2nd gear. I know a flush is not recommended. Is it better for me to take my car to the stealership than a Midas? Anyone in SoCal use Precision Z in Canoga Park or RD Factory?

You seriously don't want to take your G to Midas or the Stealership!! Take her to CarZone on Sepulveda in Van Nuys 818-373-1130. They're qualified Nissan mechanics and do great work at a reasonable price. I would just do a "Drain & Fill" on your trans and differential. Flush as you've read isn't recommended by Nissan. Midas....seriously?

Make sure they use the correct fluid. Yes It's important. If matic s or j are not available depending on ur application don't use a filler get amsoil n if none of that's around oxip. No if ur not slipping now u shouldn't slip w just a drain and fill. Your new fluid is thicker and ready to attend to old seals and friction plates. The only issue u will have is the old fluid in the converter that can't be drained w out making a plug to do so.
And trust me no one outside a protuner or a trans shop should drill into one.
Flushed aren't recommended bcuZ u can dislodge shavings and pieces inside ur trans. Everything up until this point has settled. Incase flush ur dodging this and forcing it thru ur valve body and converter where there was never a problem.
In q flush as well 95% of the time ur not dropping the pan or filter like a t a pepboys or dealer. So u don't feel or see what's caught in the pan or filter.
A lot of people on here show their knowledge about what they think " x" trans can or won't do. Take the engine side for a moment. People religiously change their oil and their
Filter every mileage change or interval needed. Due u do the same w ur trans ?? Once u feel a slip or hesitation or harsh gear drop ur problem is already there.
No fluid change and or filter is gonna go away. Ur pump is scored ur friction plates have seperated and those pieces are now indeed problems.
Sorry for long response just trying to help the forum on trans stuff since It's becoming an issue and that's what I do !!!! ATRA certified in PittsburghPA. Hope this helped.
