Does anyone have a fix for this?

Went from wing to wingless. Bought an interior 3rd brake light and it doesn't work. Thought there might be a quick easy fix for this.

Yeah, test your light to make sure its not the problem. How? Maybe it runs on 12V DC.

Thanks for the reply,

Well I bought an OEM G35C interior 3rd brake light of ebay. Before installing it, I plugged it in and hit the brakes and nothing, however the trunk lights work, and the two main brake lights work. I haven't tested any type of wiring in over 14 years, nor do I have a multimeter or test light. I bought it knowing it didn't work but figure I could fix it with help from fellows at G35driver.com.

On the 3rd brake light, the harness plug-in has 2 wires one of which is pink with a blue stripe(this wire color is used for pretty much all illumination on infiniti vehicles) back probe with a test light and hit the brake pedal. If it lights the test light up then you know the wiring is good on the power side. If it doesnt light up you can also check under all of the paneling next to the spare tire, there is a brown looking connector which is actually a power distribution block. Just had a coupe the other day and all 3 wires at this block were broken plain as day. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I'm convinced it's the actual LED assembly giving me the issue. I have two trunks...the orginal trunk has the OEM spoiler with 3rd brake light, which I put back on last Wednesday and the new wingless trunk, in which I had to buy a used interior 3rd brake light that doesn't work. The brake light on the spoiler still works when plugged in but when I plug the other 3rd brake light, it will not illuminate when hit the brake pedal. I feel like I need to buy a multimeter and start testing the LEDs.

There is no need, the harness for the spoiler and harness for 3rd light are on the same fuse, if you call the dealer unfortunately the 3rd brake light for the coupe comes in the colored housing to match the interior. If it was a sedan, you could get the led set up by itself
