Car chirp won't activate

Hey guys, recently just bought an 03 g35 coupe that didn't come with a remote fob so I bought one off of Amazon. I programmed the key and it works great but for some reason it won't activate my cars "chirp" when it locks. I don't like the silent hazards, I'd rather have the chirp. Anyone know why this happens?

Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob. It should change the sound when you lock the car.

I've tried doing that method repeatedly but all that happens is my windows roll down, which is why I don't understand what's wrong here. It's as if I'm locked out of using the "chirp"

Yes, sometimes longer to see if anything happens and the only thing that does happen is my windows roll down which I do know comes from holding the unlock button for a few seconds. Maybe my car isn't registering that both are being held down? The fob I bought is also a new factory fob so it shouldn't be the remote
