Window Issue Still works but still a problem
So i have a problem with my window i have read a couple threads with window issues but havent seen anything like mine not to say its not out there but really wanting an answer about this the window still goes up and down however when using the auto feature it will go all the way up then back down to quarter of the way open and if i manually put it all the way up if i open the door it doesnt go down to where i can close the door so i have been having to leave the window open just a hair its an 05 so if anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated if i need to replace something i can i just would like to know if this is something that can be fixed without replacing or what in fact the actual problem is

Try a motor reset first, if that doesn't work u need to replace it..

1) Use the auto feature to roll your window down 2) Then, roll up manually and hold switch up for 10 seconds. 3) Then use auto feature again to go down. 4) Try using auto feature to go up again and it should not roll back down a quarter of the way. Ratio Ill be going to clean the car out here soon so i will give this a try while im out there

Yeah it didnt work so i guess ill be taking the time to replace the motor after my trip smh but good time to do my check straps while i got everything apart

Thats the procedure i tried so i am assuming that the only other option i have is to change the motor right

You'd be amazed at how much stuff gets caught in there and how much carbon builds up. |
The one above does not work for V35 chassis. You have to take the panel off and press a button.

i appreciate the help gentlemen i will be ripping the motor out probably the weekend following memorial day i got to replace the check straps on the door anyways so i am thinking about just doing the check straps and replacing both motors start from square one

You don't need to replace the window motor, just take the door panel off and do the window reset procedure. That will fix the issue that you described, the procedure that someone noted in an answer is not the correct one for this vehicle. Just Google it and you will probably find a youtube video for it.
The only time you need to replace or pull the window motor apart is if it refuses to move the window up and down. |
