What about the NATS ?
|
We are wondering if it is fuel related. Going to try checking
the lines tomorrow and see if the pump is staying on or only turning on when I am holding the ignition. |
Well I am not getting the Green key on the dash, and also it does start up a little bit. With the NATS it should not be able to start at all right?

I know we were talking offline about OBD-II readers.... do you have access to one that works currently so you can read things like TPS and intake air flow?
Did you poke around under the car to make sure you don't have a wire touching the exhaust manifold or rubbing against something that could wear the sheathing off the wire? This could explain why it worked fine initially and then stopped working after the test drive and fill-up. Maybe wiggle around the wiring harnesses in the motor and try to start it up. If it's a loose connection or something grounding/shorting out you might temporarily cause it not to do it by moving things around a bit. |
I know a guy with a v8 skyline that said I can barrow his. If I can see whats going on it will tell me where to start looking. I have tried shaking the harness around not much luck. When I get the car on my lift again going to check under the car. for any wires.

I know you currently don't have a mechanism of reading them, but is it throwing codes?
|
I put in diagnostics mode, nothing to prevent the car from starting. It was like for having no steering controls, no emissions.
|
Do you have the entire exhaust system off? I know it sounded really loud in the video, but wasn't sure if you had just a loud exhaust setup or just still in the midst of reassembly and without most of the exhaust.
Are the front O2 sensors hooked up? I wouldn't think that having them out would have this sort of an impact, but you never know. I'd expect it would just run in open loop all the time. |
check the fuel pump, pump lines and also check voltages going to it could be a short. similar issue with old toyota pickup where the lines to pump had worn we replaced fuel pump etc and then noticed the short midway down the body as it was making contact with something and wore down. Also my brothers tahoe had a similar issue where pump was failing. everytime we kicked the gas tank the car seemed fine and would then die down and it was fluttering.
