AC/Radio control modification
I thought I had previously found a resource or at least some pics of how this was done. I don't recall exactly as I saved it to my bookmarks to look at a later date. I've since lost those bookmarks (that's another story). I can't seem to find it via searching on here or on google.
I believe someone had modified or cut the circuit board for the radio/ac controls to retain the factory ac controls (not JDM controls) but in a manner that removed the factory stereo but kept the ac controls. Then modifying the console to fit a double din, LCD screen, etc. I could have sworn I had a link to this procedure. I work on electronics for a living so the soldering and adding/removing of components wouldn't be an issue. I was just curious if this had been done before or if I just totally conjured this up in my mine...haha. The only reason I'd be interested in going this route is because I'd be doing a custom setup and if I can do this without purchasing the JDM controls or a dash kit I could use those savings towards other goodies in the install. If anyone can steer me in the right direction it would be appreciated. |

I did find one with the wires in the same pins as the instructions, so I would think this is the correct harness? First pic is the instructions, second pic is the harness in my car. |
