Oil around dipstick?

So I noticed my car leaks oil alot. After parking at a spot for awhile and moving, there would be a lot of oil on the floor. Looking under the car, I can see alot of oil and judging by what I've read from other threads, its most likely the oil drain plug washer or the o ring. I'll be replacing the o ring but I noticed something else today. I've heard when the dipstick is not placed all the way in properly, it can spit oil out. However, the dipstick was all the way in and has always been that case. Is there any reason why there would be so much oil around it?

this can happen when the rubber gasket at the top of the dipstick gets damaged or deteriorates. if you check your oil regularly its bound to happen. inspect that gasket for tears and/or missing pieces the next time you look in your engine bay.

Can it be replaced or I should I go ahead and purchase another dipstick?

If he checked his oil level frequently (ever) the dip stick and surrounding area wouldn't look like the pic show!
And yes, you can buy a new dip stick from the dealership, Infiniti or Nissan but clean that entire area first...Gary

Yes, new dipsticks are cheap - courtesyparts.com was always the cheapest for me.

Thanks guys, going to clean up the area first and then get a new dipstick. Hopefully that'll solve that and hopefully the o ring and drain plug washer replacements will solve the leak from the bottom.
