Brake Dust
I purchased EBC Red pads for my 06 G35 Base Coupe over a year ago. I'm seeing more brake dust than ever before.
Could someone please recommend pads and rotors (if necessary) to get rid of most of the dust? Thanks in advance. |
Try a basic ceramic pad and get away from the "performance" pads. IMHO they're a waste on a stock G, stock braking was a big hit with the automotive magazines back when G's were new (except for the 03-05 AWD X models)
Akebono ProAct and Wagner ThermoQuiet pads are great for the money and can be purchased at most auto part stores. Good stopping power, no noise and very little dust. Unless you have tons of miles on the rotors you should be good there. However, it's not a bad idea for a mechanic to check them out. |
Project Mu B-Force pads work real well overall and are low dust.... at least much lower than the stock pads.

Gotta love those OE brake pads, once around the block and your clean wheels look like you'd never touched 'em! For the past 10 years I've been running HAWK HPS pads without my Volks turning black after 10 minutes of driving. Available from our Marketplace under vendor brakes. After installing take 15 minutes to do the "Bed In" process for 30% better stopping ability! (Search Hawk bed in)

What has the best initial bite? My centric pads have me really sad, they brake worse compared to my new brakes on the accord...

Yeah it is all brand new, and I don't think stainless lines are necessary.
