What is the horsepower for the 2007 Infiniti g35 coupe
I'm confused because I see some websites note 275. Would Infiniti really take off 5 horsepower from the last model year of the coupe?

Depends on if you have 6MT or auto. The motors are different between the 2 cars. The auto is rated at 275 HP and the 6MT at 293 HP.

Actually it's 800hp.
No, but seriously, the 05-07 auto coupe and all 03/4 coupes (VQ35DE) was 282hp/270TQ The 05-07 6mt coupe (VQ35DE revup) was 298hp/260TQ This configuration is the same for sedans with the exception of the 07/8 sedans when they got the HR motor that put up numbers at 306hp/270TQ. Also noteworthy that all 03/4 sedans were technically rated at 260hp/260TQ, but it's widely believed that they actually have the same as the coupes (which is almost certainly true). Why, for instance, would it have less power with the same damn motor? They just wanted the extra numbers for the coupe so they could charge a premium. |

But if I remember correctly, there was something like a change in regulations dealing with how they measure horsepower recently, back in 06 or so. I remember everybodys hp numbers were changed around about then, not just Nissan/Infiniti, but Toyota/Lexus and other brands as well. |

I wouldn't get too caught up on those numbers. There are many reasons why horsepower figures for the same car with the same motor and drivetrain can change, as there are different ways to test the power output of a motor, and there are different forms of cooling during testing which will affect the numbers as well.

But if I remember correctly, there was something like a change in regulations dealing with how they measure horsepower recently, back in 06 or so. The new standard used is SAE J1349 and it doesn't allow manufacturers to disconnect auxiliary components such as power steering pumps and air conditioner compressors and they have to use the factory exhaust setup. This resulted in drops in reported HP numbers on paper after the change for a lot of manufacturers when transitioning to the new standard around the '05-'07 time frame. |
