Springmount Mod or Bigger Tires?

I am planning on dropping the car this weekend on Z S-Techs.

After reading some posts I was thinking about doing the springmount mod while everything is apart. After looking at countless before and after photos I think that the springmount mod is hardly noticeable considering the amount of cutting and work involved.

With the Z S-Tech's, should I also do the spring mount mod or fork out for some bigger meatier tires in the rear?

I didn't do the spring mount modification and very glad of it! I often back into parking spots, that mod would have lowered my backside another inch and I would have destroyed my HKS exhaust hitting curbs! If you decide to wait it doesn't take any time to pop the back springs and cut that inch off the spring mounts! Running 285/35 Michelin SS out back on my 10.5" Volks!

OOOHHHHH......Im a Volk groupie :) I spent all my love on my 350 (TE37's) that my G gets no love (Stock Rays) :(

Not going to do the mod until I see how much she actually settles from the drop. Even its a little noticeable I still prob wont do the mod. Something just does not sit well with me cutting OEM bumpers and putting them back in.

:LMAO2: Cutting the spring mounts is somewhat normal, we've had members remove them entirely!

:icon43: Prob get some very interesting noises coming from the metal to metal contact....

I honestly can't really tell people do the mod on the pics I have seen.

Maybe if I had thousands of people starring at my stance on the internet I would be more concerned.....

I do have bad eyes though maybe that's the issue.

I did it to even out my drop. I used OEM 350Z springs and it lowered my car 3/4" in the front and nothing in the rear. So it looked a little funny. Cutting the mounts got me an even drop all around.

Basically don't cut them unless you need to. The rear springs on these cars are cake to remove since their not attached to the shocks.

I'm lowering it today or tomorrow and I will gauge the drop once it settles. If its really noticeable I will cut them, but it really needs to be a sore for me to do that to the car.

Have any pics of before and after?

I do, but none are a good profile shot comparison.
