Might be saying good bye.

On my way to work today my G35 revved high and would not shift. I have no gears and my scan tool showed no codes in the transmission and was reading live data. I'm not a expert, but feel like it's my tranny or something else. When I put it in park it makes a grinding noise too. It's at the transmission shop now....hoping for the best.

Interesting. Hoping for the good news.

Me too. We lost our G a month ago to a dead motor and it sucks. But the parting out has begun.

I'm in touch privately with folks about the highly desired mods. :D

Heard back today and apparently it was my rear axle popping out by 1/4 inch. I'm definitely very happy to hear that it does make sense, I did some work back there a few months ago. When I put the shaft back in it was pretty solid though, so I'm not sure how it came loose. I asked them to change the oil for me and see if it has any shavings or anything in there. The side I took out did not have a circlip that I remember and looking on Z1's website it doesn't either. I'm guessing maybe I should have tapped it with a mallet and block of wood instead of just sliding it back in. This probably also explains my ABS light that came on a couple weeks after I did that, since the axle was apparently slipping the sensor could not read it. I probably would have caught this if I took the time to investigate the ABS sensor more, but didn't have a chance.

I have no idea how that's even possible but glad your car is okay!
