Help with bulb for headlight

My driver side headlight went out and I took it to the car shop and they said they would change it for 30 bucks but after looking at the bulb they said it would be 200$! They said they couldn’t put a standard bulb in it so what exactly kind of bulb do I have ? I have a 2005 g35 coupe. I’m assuming I can buy one way less then 200$ online and just do it myself but I don’t know the exact bulb to buy. Thanks!

Only if the ballast and bulb need replacing, would it cost you $200 due to labor. :google: '05 Infiniti coupe headlight bulb, installation is a unplug/plug and play...try the bulb first!

Probably the bulb, mine on my passenger side started flickering back in late September and luckily Advance Auto parts had the low beam in stock, however due to being HID it was a $100 bulb with a $10 rebate. As gary_c said, plug and play, jack the car up and take off the wheel, remove enough of the inner fender to access the back of the headlamp housing, remove cap and bulb, replace and put it all back together. Dealer wants that extra $$ for labor. Hope this helps. Oh, do not touch the glass portion of the new bulb whatsoever, use a latex glove if you have to but do not get any skin oil on it or any dirt, debri or fluid.

Its a D2R HID bulb. Get 2 of em so the colors will match on both sides.
