Sedan or Coupe?
So I just sold my 03' Sedan. The price was right and the miles were getting up there (133k). I am now saving for another car and I want to stick with a G. I already know about the engines, they're reliable and powerful. I was curious about the power difference between the Sedan and the Coupe. Google says there is 20 more HP in the coupe. Is there any truth to this. I want the 6MT coupe next and I was wondering how much faster it would be.
Thanks! |
What kind of sick bastard would get a sedan.

Not a rumor, it's true. IIRC the sedan's ~150# lighter than the coupe because the coupe's doors and supporting parts are heavy as hell. OP you've probably misunderstood what you've read. The 2 versions of the first gen motors were exactly the same in coupe and sedan. The difference comes from the motor being a rev-up or a non rev not which body style they were installed in. The rev-up has 298 HP but less torque than the non rev which was rated at 280HP. Any difference in performance is minute and not noticeable.

No "Granny" sedans for me...ever!
I've owned more cars than most and probably kept the ones I liked for a little longer than the average person, I never found it necessary to buy anything with 4 doors...never! Coupes are my choice...Gary

Didn't the first run of V35 sedans have 260 HP? That's what wikipedia says, but IDK how true it is. Maybe it has to do with a different ECU? I know they used an OBD1 port.

You might be right.
Coupes are for the sissy boys, it takes a real man to rock a sedan properly. :D |
