everything new still overheating
 

I changed the rad, thermostate, water pump, rebuild motor... Car is still over heating...no air lock..

Did you replace coolant temp sensor... do you have heat at idle? Most likely there's still air in the system the VQ35 is really hard to bleed. Use vac bleeder or no spill radiator funnel

I do not have heat at idle.
I did use a no spill rad funnel.

Pressure test the system and the cap.

Best idea! ^ Just because you replaced almost everything in the cooling system doesn't guarantee they're all working as intended! I always test a thermostat before installing it! Pressure test, will pinpoint where the system is failing so you're not throwing more unnecessary parts at your G!

It's not a video by Motordyne the company, it's a YouTube user who goes by the name "Motordyne G35".

I haven't watched the video so no comment about it but it's not as hard as people make it out to be if you just follow the directions. I can only guess that most folks are in a hurry and just fill the thing up which will never work on this car.

The shop did a cylinder leak test.
1st cyl 3psi
2nd cyl 25psi
3rd cyl 15psi
4 cyl 25psi
5 cyl 5psi
6 cyl 20psi

Those are not real leakdown test numbers, it will be displayed as a PERCENTAGE, not psi.

Basically the manifold you use has two gauges, one shows how many psi is being applied to the cylinder (about 80psi usually) and the other shows what percentage of the air is being lost. iirc mine was like 15% average across all cylinders, they were pretty much all the same from one cylinder to the next. I have a rev-up with 130k on the factory rings so I wasn't surprised about the 15% number, usually you want it under 10% on a new motor.

No it means you need to post the actual results of the leakdown test. If you are unsure how to interpret it then take a photo and upload it.

Why didn't you ask the shop the same question? And if you did what did they say?

Maybe an obvious question but are both fans running? One of the relays could be out and you could have just one side working and not be aware of it. That would cause overheating if you run the AC with one fan running in stop and go traffic.
