Engine not turning over.
 

Hello, new here, recently got my first G35 coupe, it is a 2004 and I am absolutely with this line of cars, i've have been a fan for years and always said that when I get my first car it is gonna be one of these, so happened that I finally got one for the low and it is my first bought vehicle. For the most part it has been a blast, been having a problem with it though, the engine doesn't turn over when turning the key, what i have to do is put it in neutral and basically keep pumping the gas pedal, i have been doing some research and it seems to be a problem with the neutral safety switch, or possibly the spark plugs. What do you guys think?

Does the engine crank and not start when you turn the key or it does it not crank at all? If you have a bad neutral switch, it would not crank at all. If it cranks but will not start, you may have a fuel or electrical issue, including bad spark plugs, dirty or clogged fuel injectors, or dirty throttle body.

Intermittent no crank on a HOT engine is usually a sign of a failing starter, intermittent no crank but wiggling the shifter around between park and neutral is usually a bad PNP switch which unfortunately is behind the TCM and valve body. If the lights on the dash indicates that you are in the correct gear then the problem is probably not the PNP switch.

ohh I see, gonna get it checked out soon. The car does start but it takes a while for the engine to turn over, gotta hold it for like 5 seconds, i dont wanna continue doing risking anything worse happening to it.
