My car will not start with the mechanical key. Please help

My dog ate my key fob 🤬so I had the dealership make me a mechanical key and It will not start my car. It will unlock, lock, roll the windows down. I put the key in the ignition and it will not let me turn the key at all. It stays in the lock position. We have looked at fuses and I have no idea what to try next. I’m hoping someone can help me please! TIA

Don't know what year your G is, but my 04 has a chip in the key that has to be programmed to the car, however you should be able to turn the key and it will crank but not start. If the key opens everything else, it should be able to turn in the ignition. If it does't, check to make sure your wheel isn't turned, placing torque pressure on the lock. Wiggle the steering wheel left and right while trying to turn the key. Could also be that a previous owner had the ignition lock replaced and the key doesn't match the door lock key. How did the dealer make the key? Did you have to give them your VIN number?

Be careful with dogs eating key fobs. If he swallowed it whole I think he will be fine. But those little batteries exposed inside can possibly burn a hole in their stomache if swallowed.

While you were already at the dealer why did you not have another Fob programmed for your car?
You should have just had the vehicle towed to the dealer and you would have left happy

The key is REQUIRED to be programmed to the vehicle, currently the vehicle thinks it's being stolen (NATS/IVIS) so it is correctly NOT letting you turn the ignition. Nissan should have explained this to you when you purchased the key, the only lock an unprogrammed key is good for is the driver door lock.
