03 G35 Coupe Taillight Upgrade to 06 (But doesn't Fit Correctly)
Hey Guys, I just installed a pair of 06 Taillights in my 03 G35 Coupe, but they don't fit flush like the original taillight. They have a wide gap at the top of the taillights. Do I need to grind something down on the taillights for them to seat properly? Check out the Pics.

Check your install, but it doesn’t seem terrible.

Yeah, check that install. I did that upgrade last year on my '04 and it fit the same as the ones I took out. |
Strange, because they can only go in one way, and its both sides. I'll remove them and reinstall them tomorrow. Will keep you guys updated.

I wonder if the aftermarket bumper or trunk have anything to do with it...

Ok guys, I borrowed a set from my friend's 2006 G35 and they fit perfect. The pair I installed that didn't fit properly came out of a 2007 G35 Coupe, so I guess those are a bit different which makes no sense to me lol

I wonder if the other ones were from a vehicle that took a bad hit that somehow warped the plastic on the taillight housing just enough that it didn't fit right. They are definitely the exact same part number for 2006-2007 coupes.

kinda looks like you tightened the outside nuts down before the other two. try hand tightening them all first then going inside to outside.
