Help with replacing driver's seat - options and issues
 

Hi all-

Been a while, I lurk a lot but can't really offer much to the repair threads. But I appreciate that everyone is still here..

Question... I've don't some searching but haven't really seen the answers in one place. So, with that in mind...

What actually happens to the safety features if I switch the drivers seat to some kind of racing one? Maybe not now, but it's a future concern with how much that outside leather tears. And I woudn't slide as much :-)
I suppose that's really the big concern right , air bags and restraint system? Anyone done this that can break it down for me ?

Search “aftermarket seat” or “resistor mod” and you should come across lots of info. You need to install a resistor to make the car think the airbags are still there. Obviously the seat airbags will no longer function since they are no longer there.
