Car forgot the key? Car won't start.
 

2005 G35 Coupe. The battery died, connected a jump back to it and unlike other times, the car didn't ask for the security code to listen to the radio. The car turns over fine but won't start. I had it towed to a shop and they're saying they need to do a long reprogram for it to relearn the key.

Does the key have a chip in the key that the car could have forgotten?

Yes. NATS (nissan anti theft system) Also know as the immobilizer. Key-ECU-BCM all have to communicate for the car to run. Expensive to fix at the the dealership.
